Orders & payment

How can I pay?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and PayPal. We don't offer cash on delivery.

Will I get an order confirmation?

Yes. You'll get an email confirming your order right after you place it, and a second email with tracking once it ships.

Can I change or cancel my order?

If it hasn't shipped yet, email support@yatoshiknives.com with your order number and we'll sort it out. If it has already shipped, you're still covered by the 60-day test drive — just send it back.

Something is missing, damaged, or wrong.

Email support@yatoshiknives.com with your order number and a photo. We'll replace the item or the part — for a cracked block, for example, we ship a new block without asking you to return the old one.

I want something that's out of stock.

Most sold-out items restock within a few weeks. Open the product page and use the back-in-stock notification, or email us and we'll tell you the expected date.

Shipping

United States

Free ground shipping on every order to the contiguous 48 states, typically 5–7 days in transit. Orders placed before noon Central ship the same business day once payment clears. Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, APO/FPO and PO Boxes ship via standard service.

International

We ship worldwide with DHL; orders are processed within 2–3 business days and tracked end to end. You'll be the importer of record: any duties, tariffs, or taxes your country charges are billed to you, not included in the price, and we're required to declare the full item value to customs.

Do you deliver to PO Boxes?

Yes, if the package fits. Knife sets with a block usually don't — a street address is safer for those.

Returns, refunds & warranty

What is the 60-day test drive?

Use anything you buy from us for 60 days from delivery. If you're not happy, email support@yatoshiknives.com with your order number and we'll refund you in full — in the contiguous US we cover the return shipping too. International customers pay return shipping; we recommend tracking and insurance.

What does the warranty cover?

Every Yatoshi product is covered for one year from purchase against defects in material, construction, or workmanship under normal home use. It doesn't cover wear, rust from improper care, damage from misuse (dropping, prying, cutting on glass or stone, dishwashers), or commercial use.

Read the full warranty.

How do I make a warranty claim?

Email support@yatoshiknives.com with your order number, a short description, and photos. If it's approved, we repair or replace at no cost.

Knife care

Are the knives dishwasher safe?

No. Hand wash with dish soap, then dry immediately with a towel. The dishwasher's heat and detergent dull the edge and can crack wooden handles.

Will they rust?

7Cr17 is a stainless steel with 17% chromium, so it resists rust and staining — but resistant isn't rust-proof. A blade left wet overnight, or soaking in the sink, can spot. Dry it and you'll never see rust. If a spot does appear, a little baking soda paste or a non-abrasive cleaner takes it off.

How often should I sharpen?

Hone weekly on the steel that comes with the block — that straightens the edge and keeps it cutting. Actual sharpening, on a whetstone or our 3-stage sharpener, is needed every few months depending on use. Sharpen at 15° to match the factory edge.

How do I care for the wooden block and handles?

Keep them dry. Wipe handles after washing, and give the block and handles a coat of food-grade mineral oil every month or two so the wood doesn't dry out.

What about carbon steel?

Carbon steel needs more attention than stainless. Never leave it wet, oil the blade lightly with mineral oil before storing, and remove any spots with bunched-up aluminum foil or a gentle abrasive cleaner.

How do I clean the ceramic cookware?

Warm soapy water and a soft sponge. Skip the dishwasher and anything abrasive — both wear down the non-stick coating. Use wood or silicone utensils. The cookware carries the same one-year warranty, which covers structural defects but not discoloration or coating wear.

Our products

Where are your knives made?

In Yangjiang, China, a city with roughly 1,500 years of blade-making history, by a facility we work with directly. We source the steel to spec — 7Cr17 high-carbon stainless for the Classic line, Japanese VG-10 for the Damascus series — and sell factory-direct so you're not paying a retailer's markup for the same knife.

Is the Damascus pattern real layered steel?

On the Damascus series, yes — forged, folded VG-10. On the Classic line the pattern is laser-etched onto 7Cr17 for the look; the product page says which is which.

What's the difference between the sets?

Same knives, different counts. The 15-piece block has the full lineup plus six steak knives, shears, and a honing steel. The 9-piece drops the steak knives. The 7-piece is the core kitchen knives without a block. Start with what you'll actually use — you can always add the steak set later.

Do you sell individual knives?

The 8" chef knife and the steak knife set are available on their own. For anything else, email us.
